Marie-Geneviève L’Her (actress and pedagogue, Théâtre de l’homme ivre, Paris/Lavauzelle)

She studied American and French literature in Paris and trained at the same time as a puppeteer. In the years 1999-2004, she performed with La Machine (Paris, France), as an actress/puppeteer. In 2004-2005, she collaborated as an actress with Teatr Jednego Wiersza (Opole, Poland; Zyszczy Nam and Uzytkownia). In the years 2005-2008, she trained in corporeal mime in Paris (school Hippocampe, and theatre company Pas de Dieux) and then in the US, as a research assistant of the performer and corporeal mime teacher Thomas Leabhart (Pomona College).

Since 2009, she investigates movement, builds her own practice and leads workshops. She became a member of the international project “Resource Songs of Song” and started a research on traditional singing. In 2010, within the framework of the Grotowski Institute (Wroclaw, Poland), she took part to the first sessions of the Studio Matejka (exploration of the theatrical potentialities of movement). Since 2011, with the Théâtre de l’homme ivre, she performs a solo performance called Marie, based on corporeal mime and texts from R. Walser and G. Büchner. It became “Marie ou La chambre claire” during a residency in the Cube (Hérisson), a piece for 3 actors and optical projections (dir: Jean-François Favreau).
